Cold

Today is was as promised cold!!! But the weather was still nice, sun and dry :)

Summer is over

it looks like summer is really over now. Yesterday we still had a gorgeous day with tempreatures over 20 degrees!! This is not normal for October!! But just now I heard on the radio that it snowed about 30 cm in the mountains and some passes have closed because of the snow. The weather forecast for the coming week is still nice, but temperatures will be much lower... So, summer is over, but it was a great and long one...

So, it is all done :)

Thesis is at the printers now... This is the final version!!

If anyone finds some errors in it, don't tell me!!

It'll be done in just over a week :)

Job hunt

Hmmm,

I got rejected for a job the other day with the argument that other applicants matched the job requirements to a greater extend... Sounds fair enough since I have no experience in the function I was applying for, but WHY did I get another e-mail today from the "jobswebsite" with this position in it again??

Should I apply again???

I received an e-mail from KLM today that because of their 90 year anniversary they are selling their tickets to Amsterdam for only CHF 90!! But only today!!

So, Siebren and I have booked right away for my defense end of November!!

Lazy weekend

We've just had a lovely lazy weekend :)

Not sure why, but I have been really tired lately, and still a bit. Maybe it is the sudden absense of the stress?? Well, today it is back to job hunting (not very successful) and some sports. The weather is still very nice, so great for catching some fresh air. For the afternoon rain was forecasted :(

Painting

So, now that I am home again and have handed in my thesis to the printers, I have some time to do fun things :)

Yesterday I have painted the wall behind the couch, something I've been wanting to do for a while, but I couldn't find the right shade of green... Now I have :)

I must say I am quite happy with the result :)

The great news of the week:

My thesis has been approved and has been submitted to the printer!!!

So, not much can keep me from defending my thesis on November 30th!!

New Start

OK, I'll try again :)

I haven't kept my other BLOG Marije in Davos up-tp-date when I was too musy working and trying to finish my PhD, BUT now it is almost finished and I have a bit more time to keep up with this one :)

As most of you know, I no longer live in Davos, hence the new name of the BLOG

With this English BLOG I also hope to keep my non-Dutch-speaking-friends up-to-date with my life.
